Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are a Major League Baseball team that is owned by attorney Peter Angelos. The Orioles belong to the Eastern Division of the American League and are based in Baltimore , Maryland . The Baltimore Orioles derived its nickname from the Orioles that is the state bird of Maryland . The Orioles have performed remarkably good baseball since its establishment. The team has always been blessed with the big-named ballplayers that have always been a part of the team. This season Orioles are not in favor making changes to the roster. Expectations are not much high from the team as they couldn't record a winning record in eight straight seasons. It is believed that the team will finish at fourth or fifth place but the club has their own set of expectations. Due to the losses they faced in last few years, they are being taken leniently by all. Last year the team crept up a little in the beginning when they exploded doors of success and were in first place from April 17-June 22. This performance definitely astounded the intact baseball world.

The hot streak eventually narrowed down, though, and Baltimore finished the first half of the season with a 47-40 record. The team was in debate during this season and the fire was cooled when misfortune dotted and the aim to be successful in the season squandered away. Manager Lee Mazzilli was sued and the second half of the season was concluded with a 27-48 record. This mark sealed their seventh fourth-place finish in the last eight years. However, the young O's learned a lesson from their transitory experience of success. Orioles still boast three 2005 All-Stars in their starting infield. Mora, Tejada and Brian Roberts are the throb of the team, and off season draft Ramon Hernandez will help the young starting staff. Orioles still have a lot more to do and to overcome. The club is determined to prove their strength in public and rest of the baseball world. The Orioles have an elucidated left field, first base and the second slit in the batting order. The infield is solid, and the catching is better. The Orioles should hit well for average, but their scoring potential isn't great. Melvin Mora would preferably be pushed one spot lower, right in front of Miguel Tejada. New pitching coach Leo Mazzone, healer of flawed mechanics, will be in the focus. It is believed that Mazzone may do some miracles in the team as he is the most energizing factor of the team but on the other hand this is also true that other teams are also on the path of improvement. It's just the team that knows what they possess in their closed hands.
